We’ve come to end of Christian liturgical year. Today marks the final feast day of “ordinary time” (technically speaking this year the calendar ends with the Feast of St. Andrew). Next Sunday the year begins anew with the beginning of Advent. Yet before our eyes gaze forward to the wonderful celebration of Advent and Christmastide, … Continue reading The Feast Day of Christ the King
What comes to mind when you hear the word discipleship? If you’ve been a Christian for any significant length of time, you are probably thinking about a small group or class at your church. This would likely include some form of Bible study or curriculum. Most likely the group or class will revolve around some … Continue reading Why Anglicanism? (Part Three)
Today on November 1, Christians the world over celebrate the Feast of All Saints, a day for us to reflect on the life and witness of those who have departed this mortal life. The celebration is also know as All Hallows Day, which is preceded by All Hallows Eve (October 31), a day that, over … Continue reading The Feast Day of All Saints
RFTG has historically chosen to take the official position of political neutrality (and we will remain so). There are many issues on both sides of the political spectrum that are of import for gospel focused issues. Additionally, there are many biblically faithful followers of Jesus who vote both Republican and Democrat. The 2024 election cycle … Continue reading A Prayer for America and the 2024 Election
On the Church calendar, October 28th is the feast day of St. Simon and St. Jude the Apostles. Simon is listed among the original twelve Apostles in all four gospel accounts, and is also known as Simon the Zealot. He is believed to have been part of an extremely nationalistic anti-Roman sect bearing the name … Continue reading The Feast Day of St. Simon and St. Jude
Today we celebrate the feast day of St. James of Jerusalem, the brother (or cousin) of our Lord Jesus. The gospels record that he did not initially approved of the ministry of Jesus, nor did he believe in him as Messiah (see Mark 3:20-21). Later in life, however, James became a fervent believer and went … Continue reading The Feast Day of St. James of Jerusalem
Today the Church celebrates the Feast Day of St. Luke the Evangelist, the author of the gospel bearing his name and the book of Acts. Luke is known as a physician , but also a missionary who traveled with the Apostle Paul on his missionary journeys. As we honor the legacy of St. Luke today, … Continue reading The Feast Day of St. Luke the Evangelist
In my previous article, I discussed the historical draw of the Anglican tradition. As a tradition that stands firmly in both the Catholic and Protestant traditions, Anglicanism provides a middle way between the two. If you have had any exposure to both of these Christian traditions, you’d know that there a few doctrinal differences between … Continue reading Why Anglicanism? (Part Two)
In our recent RFTG Ministry Update I shared that my family has made the decision to join the Anglican Church in North America (ACNA), which is part of the global Anglican tradition. This may prompt questions from some who may wonder why I would leave the Baptist tradition considering it was the tradition in which … Continue reading Why Anglicanism? (Part One)

The heart of God is at the center of the gospel message. His affections towards His people is not a great mystery that needs to be discovered. It has been revealed in the person and work of Jesus. God’s heart towards His people is seen all throughout scripture. His desire is that sinners experience His … Continue reading The Heart of Christ for Sinners and Sufferers
